It's coming...THE 24 HOURS OF CHARLOTTE!

T-minus 16 days and counting....

The second running of the 24 Hours of Charlotte is closing in and IKN is now ready to start the media machine. This race is easily one of the biggest in the sport and the number of heavy hitters signing is exciting. Held at Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte over the Memorial Day weekend, three different classes will be offered - Masters, Heavyweight and Pro - with each driver having to put in at least 60 minutes on-track. There are still a couple open spots for teams, so anyone looking to participate can find information on their website - www.377fast.com

Also, stay tuned to IKN for a consistent stream of information. You can find our initial race preview here:

http://www.indoorkartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=384

This thread will be the official discussion for the event, leading into another 'EKN Trackside' thread which will be used by the event staff and drivers to help keep everyone in the loop come raceday.

Much more to come...

Good luck to all those making the trek out east, anyone care to make official announcements as to who is racing?

I know it is a long shot but, if anyone needs a driver in a hurry I am available. Laughing

. Tony Stevens is still shopping around for one more top driver. I would say you better contact him, because he has one All-Star roster already. Wish I could be on it. Sad

Well, myself, fred and jason have been busting out butts working on the track the past week making changes to corners and the pits trying to get it ready for the 24 hour. The wall is coming down soon and we will be busting more butt getting the new track laid down within a weeks time. We always strive to put on the best event possible so i hope thats exactly what we do. Can't wait to have everyone, i love working the event and watching the racing, its almost as fun as the racing itself. See you guys next week!!

Alex,

will the new half of the track be ready in time for the 24? Seems like a lot of work to do in less than 2 weeks!

I'm very excited for the race! I'll be on Team Fingerprint with Jade Gurss - and I know it will be fun! My first endurance race since the 12 Hour! I need to get out of this NCIKC "balls to the wall" mindset! Twisted Evil

See you all soon!

I'm thinking it could be balls to the walls all 24 hours. If I know anything about the SRD guys. I know Britain is hungry, and then you've got Mike Smith's team. You know they will come prepared, and will be setting the leader's pace lap after lap. Sounds like this is going to be a race won by the fastest "masochists".

All this thing needs now is Alex Tagliani
