Sounds like a nightmare from the Pink Floyd album....
Perhaps we should have a forklift "accident" or a demonstration from the CAT NASCAR Team that got out of hand would be great excuses for the wall to come tumbling down.
...or perhaps, if a couple of holes in the wall just happened to occur overnight....or even a plot from another competing facility to destory VLK that went awry....
Best of luck to everyone competing! Wish I could make it! Hope everyone has a great time- the list of participant looks like the who's who in indoor karting...
And by the way, no one has to worry about Tags showing up, he'll be busy racing at the Indy 500...

Alex,
I've heard what would be turn 3 (second right hander, just before you're thrown into the back section) has been extended. Anything else aside from the other corner(s) you guys changed before this week?

Rob H- Are you still planning to do live coverage?
If so, do you have a web address set up yet? _________________ ww.atlantakarting.com |

Ran a bit of practice yesterday after the Gordon Event (news on that in another thread), and was able to set new track record at 32.173. This of course will be obliterated in the 24, and the current track is still very young. Much faster drivers than I have yet to take the track, so I am sure we will see 31's before too long.
Ran an assortment of karts, and things feel pretty good at this point. Karts will be fitted with new tires and setups gone through prior to the green flag, but we have a nice base to choose from already. They feel close, and Fred and Co. do a great job of weeding out the dogs.
My SRD compatriots are at the track currently with most of team MC Squared, so we'll see what they can do in today's practice. Team NAFTA will be there tonight in it's entirety, so today should be a great night of racing.
See you all later today! _________________ Mike Smith

I had a great time meeting people at work today. It's nice to finially have a face to put with names that i see all the time here on IKN. all the guys from oregon are super nice and very talented on the track, it was a pleasure. I cannot wait for this race, there is a lot of talent on display this year and its going to be a fun one. See everyone at qualifying tomorrow! _________________ -Alex Gantt

Haha I appreciate the compliment Mike I had a few clean laps that last race and was in a great kart, however, I'm sure it wont last long...
Nonetheless, I had a blast racing with both team Nafta and MC2 last night and as Alex said, it was great to finally meet everyone.
Good luck to all!! |
